Solar Power System, also commonly known as a solar energy system (PPS) or solar power system is a system designed to provide usable electrical energy from the sun. The solar cells of the solar power system to absorb the energy from the sun and convert it into useful electrical current that can be used to power all kinds of household electrical equipments. It has been found that solar systems are highly effective, inexpensive, and reliable as well as very effective in storing sun-hours for future use. A solar system can generate electricity even in conditions where there is no sunlight or even if it receives less than one watt per square meter.

In spite of the many benefits of using green power or renewable energy sources like solar power system and grid-tied batteries, there are some drawbacks too. Adverse weather conditions like a cloudy day, snow etc may reduce the production of electricity in the solar electricity system. The batteries need frequent recharging. At times the battery cells may get damaged. However, the technology is progressing, and new products are coming up in the market to overcome all the drawbacks of the old ones.

One of the main problems with solar power systems and green batteries is that the performance of these batteries is less than expected, and at times they do not deliver desired results. There are some factors like poor quality silicone or lithium batteries that may affect their performance drastically. Low energy density or slow rate of charge/discharge is another problem. To overcome this drawback, manufacturers of such products are introducing new high-energy density, fast charging and fast discharge batteries to improve the overall performance of the solar power system and battery.

There are also ways to add batteries to the solar electricity system to reduce its size. Polymer-based batteries can be easily added. These are lightweight and have high energy densities. One disadvantage is that they can be toxic in nature and pollute the environment during storage and discharging. They can also be a safety concern and should be used carefully.

Lithium-ion batteries are available in smaller sizes and can add batteries to the solar power system to produce more electricity, and add batteries to the main system for fast charge and discharges. This has some disadvantages as well. The size of the batteries can be inconvenient for the user, and it does not provide fast charge and quick discharge capabilities. But if you use the batteries effectively and charge them up regularly, it will be beneficial to your home electricity consumption.

Some of the myths that I have heard are that you can't add batteries to the system for storing, and that you can't use lithium-ion-based batteries in one of these systems. So, let's remove some of these myths and find out what the real facts are. When you do this, you will be able to build your own efficient, cost effective and environmentally friendly home solar power system.
